Hills Raiders Ability Hoops: Basketball Australia’s Inclusive Basketball Pilot Delivered Big Results in the Perth Hills

In Term 1 2025, Basketball Australia partnered with Hills Raiders Basketball Association to pilot the Ability Hoops program at Mundaring Arena. The initiative opened the court to girls and boys of all ages with disabilities, giving them a safe, supportive space to learn basketball, stay active and build confidence.

Player numbers were strong, the atmosphere was buzzing and families praised Hills Raiders inclusive coaching delivered by volunteers who had completed Basketball Australia’s Inclusive Coaching module.

The positive feedback and success of the pilot, Hills Raiders rolled straight into Term 2, which tipped off on Saturday 17 May. The program continues to welcome new participants eager to experience inclusive basketball in the Perth Hills community.
